Thermo Fisher Scientific Acquires Slovakian Mass Spec Software Firm HighChem

Thermo Fisher Scientific said today that it has acquired HighChem, a developer of mass spectrometry software based in Slovakia. 

Financial and other terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Bratislava-based HighChem offers software that is used by pharmaceutical and metabolomics laboratories for analyzing complex data and identifying small molecules.

"The addition of HighChem's software solutions to our existing mass spectrometry software portfolio will enable us to deliver greater value for our mass spectrometry customers," said Mitch Kennedy, Thermo Fisher Scientific's president of chromatography and mass spectrometry, in a statement. 

HighChem will be integrated into Thermo Fisher's chromatography and mass spectrometry business, which is part of the firm's Analytical Instruments unit.
