Li Li, commissioner of China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), led a delegation to Vietnam and Thailand from 11 to 15 November to enhance bilateral collaboration in pharmaceutical regulation. During the visit, Li signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with health authorities in both countries.

During the visit to Vietnam, the delegation held discussions with the Ministry of Health on enhancing cooperation in regulatory areas, including information exchange, GMP oversight, drug inspection, and quality control for drugs, medical devices, and cosmetics. The two sides signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Regulation of Drugs, Medical Devices, and Cosmetics.

In Thailand, the delegation engaged in talks with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to explore strengthening regulatory experience sharing, information exchange, joint inspections, and international coordination. The visit culminated in the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Regulation of Drugs, Medical Devices, and Cosmetics.

Regulatory authorities from China, Vietnam, and Thailand committed to leveraging the new cooperation framework to enhance communication, promote the high-quality development of the pharmaceutical industry, and safeguard public health and well-being.

Additionally, the delegation conducted on-site visits to drug testing facilities, clinical trial institutions, and pharmaceutical enterprises in both Vietnam and Thailand, fostering deeper mutual understanding and exploring opportunities for practical collaboration.
