Informatics firm Genedata announced that it has been acquired by Danaher.

In a statement, the Basel, Switzerland-based Genedata, which develops software for biopharmaceutical and biotech R&D, said that it is joining Danaher's life sciences segment. Financial and other terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Genedata's software and services, including its Genedata Biopharma Platform, are expected to add to Danaher's tools for drug discovery, development, and manufacturing for new therapies. The two firms have previously engaged in several successful collaborations, Genedata added in its statement.

"Genedata is a global market leader in digitalizing R&D processes to help accelerate the delivery of lifesaving and personalized medicines. Our achievements are driven by the dedication and expertise of our teams, whose efforts have been instrumental in earning the trust of our customers," Othmar Pfannes, PhD, founder and CEO of Genedata, said.

"As a Danaher operating company, Genedata will seek to continue to attract the brightest talent and solve our customers' hardest problems globally."
