The MedTech 100 is a financial index calculated using the Medtech Big 100 companies covered in Medical Design and Outsourcing. The Big 100 is a collection of top medtech companies ranked by annual revenue, R&D spend and employee headcount.

Medtronic, Johnson & Johnson, and Siemens Healthcare ranked as the top three companies in terms of revenue. The total annual revenue of the companies selected for the Top 100 is approximately $440.9 billion, employing more than 1.27 million people and investing more than $23.4 billion in annual research and development.

Among them, 53 companies from the United States made the list, 15 from Japan, 7 from Germany, 5 from Switzerland, 4 from Denmark, 3 from the United Kingdom, 2 each from Belgium, China, Ireland, and Sweden, and 1 each from New Zealand, Australia, Italy, France, and the Netherlands.

China's highest ranking was Mindrary at 32nd, followed by MicroPort at 77th.

According to this list, we have seen some recent trends, including the separation of medical device companies into independent businesses by large enterprise groups. In order to remain competitive, some large companies, including GE HealthCare, have also turned to substantive cooperation rather than outright mergers and acquisitions. And also, we have seen the huge gap between domestic enterprises and top mechanical enterprises, but from the perspective of development potential, Chinese medical device enterprises are also showing a growing momentum.
