Recently, Shanghai University, relying on Shanghai's scientific and educational resources, gave full play to the cross-integration of multiple disciplines such as machinery and control, and the national first-class discipline of "mechanical engineering", formed an interdisciplinary research team and successfully developed the "automatic nucleic acid sampling robot". The first non-contact, highly intelligent nucleic acid sampling robot successfully developed.

Fully automatic, without contact

Complete nucleic acid sampling in as fast as 22 seconds

"The fully automatic nucleic acid sampling robot is quite convenient. It does not require staff to scan the nucleic acid code or use a mouthpiece. It is fast and hygienic." Zhou, a student from Shanghai University who had just tried automated nucleic acid sampling, told reporters.

On the first floor of Building J, Baoshan Campus of Shanghai University, the fully automatic nucleic acid sampling robot "sits" in the hall of the lecture hall in the form of a nucleic acid sampling booth with a length of 2.2 meters, a width of 1.3 meters and a height of 2.1 meters. The sampling surface glass of the sampling booth is marked with " 1. Measuring body temperature 2. Scanning nucleic acid code 3. Nucleic acid automatic sampling" sampling steps, and equipped with thermometers and scanners in corresponding positions.

After taking temperature of hands and scanning nucleic acid code by themselves, the student volunteers who tested the sampling came to the sampling window, followed the voice prompts, approached the sampling window with their faces, opened their mouths at the window, and waited for the robotic arm to grab the swab and stretch it out to the sample. its throat.01

When the swab touches the posterior wall of the pharynx, the robotic arm will "hold" the swab "three circles to the left and three circles to the right" for collection.

After the sampling, the robotic arm slowly retracts and puts the swab into the test tube, cutting off the excess length of the swab automatically, and then tightening the cap of the test tube with the gripper of the machine. Non-contact nucleic acid sampling for actions such as test tubes.

Complete the entire sampling process

The fastest time is only 22 seconds

It's reported the nucleic acid sampling robot has the characteristics of "automatic, non-contact, high-throughput, high-speed, cloud monitoring", and organically integrates a dexterous robotic arm and a small automated production line, from swab peeling, positioning and clamping, The whole process of test tube upper position, test tube scanning code, oral sampling, sample cutting, test tube lower position, and disinfection at the end of sampling, etc., has been truly automated.

At the same time, the nucleic acid sampling robot adopts the concept of "non-contact throughout the whole process", and the sampler does not need to contact the head to fix it, nor does it need to bite the "mouthpiece", which minimizes the risk of cross-infection.

"Visual + tactile", all-round disinfection

"I was worried at first that the robotic arm is a machine after all, and it would be too hard or hurt the throat, but during the subsequent sampling process, I could feel that when the swab touched the throat, the robotic arm immediately stopped moving and started.' Sampling gently." Yang, a student from Shanghai University, told reporters.

High standards and strict requirements

More than ten team members, 60 days of hard work day and night

After receiving the task of the nucleic acid sampling robot research and development project on May 5, the backbone teachers of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and Automation of Shanghai University and the School of Translational Medicine immediately formed a research and development team. Vice President Zhonghua is the executive team leader. Giving full play to the interdisciplinary advantages of the college, the technical team members include Liu Shulin, Wang Haikuan, Li Nan, Cui Ze, Hua Xiaoqing, Ouyang Aviation, Wu Huixing and other technical backbones as well as several student volunteers.

It is understood that after 60 days of hard work day and night, the R&D team overcame the difficulties brought by the epidemic containment and control, and continuously conquered visual and tactile fusion perception, oral 3D modeling, visual positioning correction, limited space robotic arm path planning, and more. More than 10 key technologies such as beat synchronous servo control and visual haptic closed-loop control.

At the same time, all R&D team members and student volunteers made full use of the advantages of multi-disciplinary cross-disciplinary, from conceptual design, simulation, program demonstration, mechanical design, technical research, software development, mechanical assembly to joint debugging and trial operation, independently and successfully developed The first fully automatic non-contact nucleic acid sampling robot in Shanghai University.
