Invested US$5 million to build a factory in the UK

On December 7, Zhejiang Orient Gene Biotech Co.,Ltd. announced that based on the company's global strategic layout, to further meet the business development in Europe and other places and the need for nearby support, the company invested US$5 million in Scotland, UK to establish a wholly-owned subsidiary ACCUBIO.LIMITED.UK.

ACCUBIO.LIMITED.UK will set up a manufacturing facility in Arroway, Scotland to develop, manufacture and sell in vitro diagnostic products and other biomedical products, with core technologies in quantum dots, quantitative fluorescence analysis, gene sequencing and nucleic acid detection, precision medicine, mainly producing new crown antigens, antibodies and nucleic acid detection reagents as well as various infectious disease detection reagents such as respiratory and digestive tract, drug detection reagents, tumour markers and gene mutation detection reagents. The company will further its in-depth cooperation with UK enterprises to contribute the prevention and control of epidemics and medical and health care construction in the UK. At the same time, the products will be sold to the UK, Europe and the United States and around the world.

The company's IVD factory in Ethiopia has passed the Medical device-Quality management system-requirements for regulatory (ISO 13485:2016) and has the production capacity of local medical devices in Africa, which has laid a good foundation for the company to base on Ethiopia and radiate to other countries in Africa, and will effectively support the implementation of the company's international strategic layout.
