On June 2, "Fortune" released the latest 2021 US 500 list. The US 500 companies on the list generated a total of 13.8 trillion US dollars. The total income of the companies on the list is equivalent to two-thirds of the US GDP that year.
Affected by the global epidemic, the ranking criteria has been lowered. The last year's output value requirement is 5.66 billion US dollars per company, but in 2021, the requirement is 5.37 billion US dollars. In 2020, the total profit of these largest US companies was 858.6 billion U.S. dollars, which was a substantial decrease of 29.8% compared with last year. This is the biggest drop since 2009.
The top ten companies on the top 500 list are: Wal-Mart, Amazon, Apple, CVS Health, UnitedHealth Group, Berkshire Hathaway, Maxson, Meiyuan Bergen, Alphabet, Exxon Mobil. The list shows that Wal-Mart has topped the list for the ninth consecutive year.
Nine companies in the medical equipment industry are on the list, and 5 companies involved in IVD business were also on the list --- Abbott, Thermo Fisher, Danaher, BD, and 3M.
Among them, there are 14 companies in the pharmaceutical industry on the list, with Johnson & Johnson, Merck and AbbVie ranking the top three.
