During March 18-19th, 2015, Advanced Filtration team participated in an IVD Exhibition and in a joint customer seminar hosted by Ahlstrom and Sartorius.

Advanced Filtration participated first time in CALCP, China’s largest exhibition for Diagnostics products.   CACLP is a professional and influential exhibition and for 25 years the Expo has served as an efficient platform for high-tech information exchange and market expansion for both domestic and international IVD companies.

In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) is a method of performing diagnostic tests either in a clinical laboratory setting, in a near patient setting or at home.   Tests provide valuable information on a patient's health status – either in health monitoring or in health information.     Examples of IVD tests can be found all around in our everyday life:  testing blood for infectious diseases or for glucose and testing made at home like pregnancy tests.

Ahlstrom makes a wide range of absorbent filter media that are used in IVD devices.   In the IVD market, the test devices are called Lateral Flow Immunoassays (LFIA).

Ahlstrom had a small stand in the expo which was decorated with our products and samples for IVD applications.   Many potential customers were interested in our impregnated IVD media, Ahlstrom ReliaFlow™ series of products and in our upcoming next generation of conjugate pad.    The expo had over 500 exhibitors focusing on diagnostics.     We received about 50 visitors to our booth and registered over 30 leads to follow up.

In connection with the Diagnostics exhibition, Ahlstrom organized a customer seminar together with Sartorius to present our capabilities and innovations within IVD media.   We had more than 50 participants in our 2 hour long seminar.   From Ahlstrom, Noel Cartier presented briefly Ahlstrom and our R&D capabilities globally.   Cedric Vallet presented Ahlstrom IVD media focusing on Ahlstrom ReliaFlow™ treated media.    Clark Li introduced the entire Ahlstrom IVD portfolio and he organized this successful joint event together with local Sartorius team.

“First time ever at this exhibition, but in light of the success and the opportunities this will likely become a yearly event for us” stated Clas Läck, Sales leader Laboratory & Life Science.

In the past 10 years, Chinese IVD industry has maintained an increasing rate of over 10% and is considered to be one of the most promising IVD market on the globe.  With the further development of China health care reform,  the IVD market is supposed to be more prosperous in the future and in recent years.  More competitive companies and products spring up all over China, reflecting the rapid growth of the market.  Source: CALCP.org
