Recently, domestic diagnostic manufacturer General Biologicals Corporation (GBC) announced that they have signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the United States genetic testing company Veritas Genetics. In the future GBC will cooperate with Veritas Genetics on multiple aspects and try to seize the business opportunity of global precision medicine.

GBC said that in this cooperation, GBC will get Veritas Genetics’ genetic testing products like myBRCA. On the other hand, with their technology advantages on hepatitis, liver fiber and other major diseases test, GBC will do R＆D together with Veritas Genetics and develop new products that can survive in global precision medicine market.

GBC pointed out that in Taiwan, breast cancer incidence in female kept rising. According to statistics from the bureau of national health, from 1995 to 2009, the incidence has rised from 28.46% to 59.91% and mortality rate reached 11%. So in this cooperation with Veritas Genetics, GBC first introuduced their myBRCA products.

With the cooperation, GBC believe that it will fasten the develop speed of genetic testing products and sell GBC’s products to the US and Europe through Veritas Genetics’ marketing channels. Their aim is to compete for the huge global market of precise medicine business.
