Wanda Group and IHG(International Hospitals Group Limited) recently have made a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing. Wanda will invest a total of 15 billion yuan in Shanghai, Chengdu and Qingdao to construct three integrated international hospitals, and they will be operated and managed by IHG under IHG brand. This is the biggest investment of Chinese enterprises in the medical industry, and it is also the first project in China that IHG hospital operates and manages.
The hardware, medical and operational level of the three comprehensive international hospitals that Wanda has invested in all have reached world-class. The hospital in shanghai has 1000 beds, invested 8 billion yuan; the hospital in Chengdu has 500 beds, invested 5 billion yuan; the hospital in Qingdao has 200 beds, invested 2 billion yuan. All the three hospitals will be designed and built in accordance with top international standards. And IHG will ensure the three hospitals get approved by international health agencies JCI (Joint Commission on Accreditation of international medical and health institutions) and other international medical certification institutions.
Located in the east of Qingdao Wanda International Cinema, the hospital now is under construction, and it’s planned to have the opening in July 2018; located in Chengdu Tianfu New Central Business District, the hospital will be built in the first quarter of 2016; the hospital in Shanghai also is going to be built in 2016. IHG will appoint world-class foreign experts as hospital directors and equip the hospitals with a certain proportion of high levels of foreign doctors and professional medical team so that the hospitals can achieve the medical and operating standards of international high-end hospitals.
