CAIVD, CPCEM and CACLP Conduct High-Level IVD Exchange Visit in South Korea

A delegation from the China Association of In Vitro Diagnostics (CAIVD), the China Professional Community of Experimental Medicine (CPCEM), and CACLP visited Incheon for a four-day industry and academic exchange program. 

 

The visit aimed to strengthen high-level communication between China and South Korea in the fields of laboratory medicine and in vitro diagnostics (IVD), and to promote deeper cooperation in technological innovation, academic exchange, industrial collaboration and international market development.

 

 

 

China每Korea High-Level IVD Exchange Meeting

On October 28, KIVDA and CAIVD, CPCEM, CACLP jointly held the China每Korea IVD Industry High-Level Exchange Meeting in Seoul.

 

 

 

The meeting highlighted the shared commitment of both countries to innovation, openness, and collaboration in IVD technologies. Representatives from Chinese and Korean enterprises engaged in practical dialogue, outlining a cooperative blueprint for value co-creation and ecosystem integration in future global markets, setting a model for open, innovative, and mutually beneficial industry cooperation.

 

Prof. Haibo Song, Chairman of CAIVD, Director of the IVD Industrial Development Institute at SAEM, and Founder of CACLP, emphasized in his remarks that China and South Korea are highly complementary in the IVD field, offering significant potential for long-term cooperation. He encouraged both sides to take this exchange as an opportunity to build enduring partnerships and jointly promote scientific innovation, industrial development, and contributions to global health.

 

 

During the meeting, Chinese and Korean companies shared their technological strengths and product portfolios across molecular diagnostics, immunoassays, POCT, raw materials, and others. The lively discussions and strong engagement fully demonstrated the dynamism and innovation capacity of both countries* IVD industries.

 

The successful event established an efficient communication platform for both sides and laid a solid foundation for future collaboration. CAIVD and CPCEM will continue advancing international exchanges and work with global partners to foster high-quality cooperation platforms for the IVD industry worldwide.

 

  

Dialogue with the Korean Society for Laboratory Medicine (KSLM)

 

 

On October 29, delegates from CAIVD, CPCEM and CACLP met with leadership from KSLM to discuss academic collaboration, scientific research, and industrial integration. Both sides agreed that China and Korea should deepen communication and pursue more open and pragmatic cooperation to jointly promote the high-quality development of laboratory medicine and IVD in Asia.

 

 

Prof. Haibo Song proposed exploring more diversified cooperation models through closer communication. He also introduced CACLP*s expanding AI Zone at the upcoming 2026 exhibition in Xiamen, which will focus on applications of AI in diagnostics, pathology interpretation, data analytics, and laboratory operations. 

 

Prof. Hualiang Wang, MD, Ph.D., Professor and President of Shanghai Academy of Experimental Medicine, Chairman of the Experimental Medicine Branch of the National Health Industry Enterprise Management Association, Chief Editor of VIEW, noted that strong government support and increasing international cooperation provide significant growth potential. He stressed the complementary strengths between China and South Korea in laboratory medicine research.

 

 

 

The dialogue concluded with a shared understanding that China每Korea IVD cooperation is entering a new stage and that both sides will continue to enhance communication to jointly drive the region*s laboratory medicine and diagnostic industries forward.

 

 

Lab Visits and LMCE 2025 Participation

 

On the afternoon of October 29, the Chinese delegation visited Seegene Medical Foundation, touring its state-of-the-art laboratories and automated diagnostic platforms. The visit provided deeper insights into Korea*s innovation in molecular diagnostics, helping to build a sustainable ※technology corridor§ between enterprises of both countries.

 

 

 

 

On October 30, the delegation attended LMCE 2025 (Laboratory Medicine Congress & Exhibition) & KSLM 66th Annual Meeting. Exhibition halls were vibrant and dynamic, with active international engagement.

 

 

 

In the afternoon, the delegation joined the Asia Session: Public & Private Health Checkup Systems, where Prof. Hualiang Wang delivered a keynote speech on the development and innovation of China*s health checkup system, receiving strong interest from participants.

 

 

Delegates also attended the official conference dinner to further engage with associations and experts from Japan, Korea, India, Indonesia, Mongolia, and other Asian regions.

 

 

Visit to i-SENS

 

On October 31, accompanied by KIVDA representatives, the delegation visited i-SENS, touring its production facilities and R&D center and discussing product innovation, quality systems, and opportunities for international collaboration.

 

 

The four-day visit concluded successfully, strengthening communication, mutual trust, and cooperation between the Chinese and Korean IVD industries. Both sides expressed intentions to organize a dedicated China每Korea IVD cooperation session during CACLP 2026 in Xiamen next March, facilitating project landing, academic exchange, and joint industry development.

 

CAIVD, CPCEM and CACLP reaffirmed their commitment to building global collaboration platforms and promoting openness and mutual progress in the international IVD community.
