On 26 October 2024, China Association of In-Vitro Diagnostics (CAIVD) held its Raw Materials & Parts Working Conference in Hangzhou, attracting close to 20 distinguished representatives from industry, academia, and research.
Prof. Haibo Song, Chairman of China Association of In-Vitro Diagnostics, Director of IVD Industrial Development Institute, SAEM, Founder of CACLP, underscored the need for China¡¯s raw materials and parts enterprises to embrace an international growth strategy. He called for increased global engagement to boost China¡¯s competitiveness in the international market, noting that internationalization is critical not only for individual enterprise growth but also for raising China¡¯s manufacturing standards and enhancing supply chain resilience.
The conference included an in-depth review of China¡¯s in vitro diagnostic (IVD) core components sector. Participants examined the industry¡¯s status, challenges, and critical development needs and explored pathways for advancing industry standards. The conference also detailed plans for the upcoming 5th China Key Raw Materials & Parts Forum, which will run concurrently with CACLP 2025 in next March, aiming to deliver a practical platform for collaboration and support technological innovation and standardization across the IVD industry chain.
Participants emphasized the importance of stronger communication between upstream, midstream, and downstream IVD enterprises. By building a cohesive communication and collaboration framework, enterprises can better align with industry needs, adapt to market trends, integrate resources, and minimize redundant inputs, thus fostering a healthy model of competitive collaboration. This approach promises to support sustainable growth and innovation throughout the IVD supply chain.
