On 26 October 2024, the Working Conference of the In Vitro Diagnostics Industrial Development Institute (IIDI), part of the Shanghai Academy of Experimental Medicine (SAEM), took place in Hangzhou. Over 20 think-tank members and researchers participated in the meeting.

The conference began with an update on the Institute's progress since its establishment in August 2023. 

Detailed presentations were made on the compilation of the In Vitro Diagnostics Industry Activity Index, the Listed Companies Index, and the Industry Development Index, including methodologies and data sources. Delegates provided valuable insights on refining these indices, emphasizing the need for collaboration among in vitro diagnostic companies for data disclosure to enhance industry transparency. Suggestions included incorporating corporate social responsibility reports (ESG) into value indicators and considering the impact of national policies on financial metrics for a holistic view of the industry.

The editorial progress of the Annual Report of China IVD Industry was also discussed.

Prof. Haibo Song, Chairman of China Association of In-Vitro Diagnostics, Director of IVD Industrial Development Institute, SAEM, Founder of CACLP, announced plans to merge the Report with the In Vitro Diagnostics Index, creating a comprehensive Industry Research Report. This new report aims to deliver precise data, sound analysis, and actionable insights to advance the industry effectively.
