In December 21, 2015, genomics service provider GENEWIZ announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the U.S. company Beckman's genome business, the business includes global genome business, health enterprise and academic ＆ governmental research institutions.

"Beckman’s genome service business fit very well with GENEWIZ’s global strategies and expansion plans," GENEWIZ president and CEO Sun Zhongping said: "We two companies has a common mission and vision, namely providing scientists around the world with consistently reliable genetic services and solutions, in order to promote scientific innovation and discovery."

Beckman and GENEWIZ will coordinate and cooperate to ensure smooth transition and transition. The agreement has been approved by the board of directors of the company and shall take effect immediately.
