CAIVD & PCEM & CACLP Shine at WorldLab 2024

The 26th International Congress of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine - IFCC WorldLab Congress organized jointly with the 17th Congress of the Arab Federation of Clinical Biology, 10th Annual Meeting of the Saudi Society for Clinical Chemistry and 8th International and United Arab Emirates Genetic Disorders Conference successfully convened in Dubai from 26-30 May 2024.

 

This year's exhibition showcased 37 global companies and several international associations. CAIVD, PCEM and CACLP were invited as well and demonstrated their commitment to promoting academic exchanges and industrial collaboration all around the globe.

 

On May 27, Prof. Haibo Song, Chairman of China Association of In-Vitro Diagnostics, Director of IVD Industrial Development Institute, SAEM, Founder of CACLP, Prof. Hualiang Wang, MD, Ph.D., Professor and President of Shanghai Academy of Experimental Medicine, Chairman of the Experimental Medicine Branch of the National Health Industry Enterprise Management Association, Chief Editor of VIEW, Ms. Karen Dai, Executive Deputy Secretary of CAIVD, General Manager of CACLP were invited to attend the event.



The delegation engaged in extensive and productive exchanges with representatives from global organizations and companies, including Snibe, YHLO, Autobio, Sansure, Mindray, Maccura and Keyu. 



On May 28, the delegation had a meeting with Prof. Tomris Ozben, President of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC), and Prof. Khosrow Adeli, Past President of the IFCC, at Dubai WorldLab. 

 

They discussed the future of the IVD industry, with the IFCC leaders emphasizing their commitment to leveraging global academic resources to promote international cooperation and advance laboratory medicine worldwide. Prof. Song Haibo and Prof. Wang Hualiang expressed their hopes for closer communication and collaboration, aiming to explore diverse ways of cooperation and promote the global development of experimental medicine and in vitro diagnostics. Prof. Song Haibo also extended a sincere invitation to IFCC for the upcoming CACLP & CISCE 2025 and concurrent activities in March 2025, highlighting the vibrant development of China's IVD industry and creating opportunities for greater communication between academia and industry.



On May 29, the delegation visited the National Reference Laboratory (NRL) in Abu Dhabi, UAE. They engaged in in-depth discussions on Sino-Arab cooperation in laboratory testing, visiting key NRL laboratories and learning about their operations. Both parties expressed their desire to strengthen communication and develop more extensive cooperation in the future.



At WorldLab, In Vitro Diagnostic Industry in China and the open-access journal VIEW garnered significant attention onsite. In In Vitro Diagnostic Industry in China, the comprehensive analysis of China's IVD industry attracted many international IVD players, providing an important resource for understanding China's market.

 

VIEW, founded by Prof. Haibo Song as Honorary Editor-in-Chief and Prof. Hualiang Wang as Editor-in-Chief in collaboration with Wiley, also received substantial interest. It stands as a leading platform for international academic exchange.



Throughout the event, CAIVD, PCEM and CACLP engaged in in-depth discussions with IFCC and the European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (EFLM). They explored future cooperation possibilities and the construction of a global IVD industry community, aiming to enhance international collaboration in laboratory medicine. 

 

CAIVD and PCEM are committed to strengthening communication between Chinese and global scientists and jointly supporting the development of experimental medicine and IVD fields in developing countries. Their participation at WorldLab 2024 deepened international academic and industrial ties, enhanced global influence, and presented China's latest achievements and future vision for the innovative development of the global IVD industry.
