BGI and AHRI, a subsidiary of the Ethiopian Ministry of Health, signed a memorandum of cooperation
Recently, in Addis Ababa, BGI and the Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI), a subsidiary of the Ethiopian Ministry of Health, officially signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation.
BGI will help AHRI enhance its capabilities for genomic and precision medical testing, and assist in upgrading the local healthcare system in Ethiopia.
Currently, BGI provides precision medical solutions in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Previously, the factory invested and constructed by BGI in Ethiopia has become one of the first local enterprises to obtain certification for hepatitis C virus, HCG (pregnancy urine test), Treponema pallidum palladium (syphilis test), and rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) for typhoid fever from the Ethiopian Food and Drug Administration.
MGI Tech to build a production base in the United States
On November 16, Complete Genomics (hereinafter referred to as "CG"), a subsidiary of MGI Tech in the United States, announced plans to invest $3.2 million to build a production base in San Jose, California. The production base is expected to be completed and put into operation in March 2024.
The completion of this production base will further improve the US supply chain, shorten product delivery cycles, and more efficiently empower local US users.
In January 2023, CG announced the launch of its full line sequencing products in the United States. MGI Tech's products and technologies have also received widespread praise from the American industry and have established partnerships with research institutions and enterprises such as Google Health, Nebula Genomics, and Integrated DNA Technologies.
The new base of Fapon Boston R&D Center has officially opened
On November 9, the opening ceremony of the new base of Fapon Boston Research and Development Center was grandly held in Lexington, Massachusetts, USA. The Boston R&D Centre will focus on the innovation and development of molecular diagnostics and mRNA therapeutic technologies, solidifying an important technological base for the development of the global diagnostic and treatment system of Fapon.
Roche opened its Asia-Pacific instrument production base in Suzhou
Recently, Roche opened its Asia-Pacific instrument production base. The new base is located in Zhongxin Xingwan Industrial Park, Suzhou Industrial Park. It will carry out localized manufacturing and testing of advanced diagnostic instruments and equipment such as fully automated sample processing systems and in vitro diagnostic analysis equipment.
The German subsidiary of Shuwen Biotech got CE marking
Recently, RNXtract, an innovative product from Cerca Biotech GmbH, a German subsidiary of Shuwen Biotech, obtained CE mark under IVDR certification. Innovative IVD products developed by Shuwen Biotech have been introduced to the global market through the European team of Cerca Biotech GmbH.
