Japanese healthcare firm Sysmex said that it has signed a global supply agreement for hemostasis instruments and reagents with Siemens Healthineers.
Under the terms of the deal, the companies will provide each other with their hemostasis products on an original equipment manufacturer basis. They will then market the products in the combined portfolio under their respective brands.
The agreement covers, among other things, hemostasis products for testing for blood clotting disorders, preoperative bleeding risk management, and monitoring patients on anticoagulant therapy medications.
Financial and other terms were not disclosed.
"We will individually offer laboratories worldwide proprietary solutions with the benefit of our respective expertise and service portfolio, providing customers with access to the broadest set of solutions in the evolving market," Kenji Tachibana, senior managing director of Sysmex, said in a statement.
Frankfurt, Germany-based Siemens and Sysmex have been distribution, sales, and services partners in the hemostasis field since 1995. In early 2021, they expanded their alliance to include Siemen's distribution of Sysmex's CN-Series line of automated blood coagulation analyzers.
