Chinese IVD Companies Help Hong Kong Fight COVID-19

On 12 February, the second meeting between the Mainland and Hong Kong on the COVID-19 outbreak as held in Shenzhen as the COVID-19 continued to spread in Hong Kong and confirmed cases continued to soar. At the meeting, Mr. Huang Liuquan, Deputy Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, stressed that the relevant departments of the Central Government and Guangdong Province Government would take all necessary measures to support Hong Kong in containing the rapid spread of the COVID-19 and stabilising the situation as soon as possible. 

 

Many Chinese IVD companies are actively involved in the "war" against the COVID-19 outbreak in Hong Kong. 

 

On 11 February, Hotgen took prompt action and sent a large quantity of SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Test to support Hong Kong in the fight against theCOVID-19. 

 

On 12 February, KingMed sent a team of 35 testers to Hong Kong. With the addition of KingMed's local labs in Hong Kong, KingMed now has over 60 people in Hong Kong to fight against theCOVID-19.

 

On 15 February, YHLO sent a truck full of millions of SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Test from Shenzhen to Hong Kong to help control COVID-19. 

 

On 15 February, The Huo-Yan (Fire Eye) Laboratory, hosted by BGI Genomics' Huasheng Diagnostic Centre, was restarted, which will enable a significant increase in the number of tests performed in Hong Kong in a single day.

 

At present, the COVID-19 is still in progress and the virus is constantly mutating, posing new challenges to global public health. Many Chinese IVD companies continue to pay attention to the changes of the global epidemic and actively participate in the fight against the COVID-19 in various regions to continue to support the prevention and control of the COVID-19.
